Create new and innovative ideas that can be used by the Miracle Network Dance Marathon community to raise life-saving funds for kids treated at Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals across North America.

Pitch Your Idea to Change the World

We want your ideas to make what we do even better. Pitch your idea individually or in teams of up to 3 people, to create new and innovative ideas that can be used by the Dance Marathon community to raise life-saving funds for kids treated at Children's Miracle Network Hospitals across North America. 

What's in it for You?

The top 4 submissions will get to develop their idea with subject matter experts and present their idea during DMLC 2020, as well as receive a $1000 donation to their local children's hospital. The 3 runners up will win $250 for their local children's hospital.

 

The idea submitter/team with the winning idea will be able to choose 1 of 3 prize options.

 

The 3 options are:

 

  • A one time $3000 grant for their Dance Marathon program!
  • A trip for up to 3 to Children's Hospitals Week 2021 in Orlando, FL!
  • A custom DonorDrive theme along with coaching from Donor Drive on how to make your DonorDrive fundraising platform as effective and engaging as possible!

Key Success Criteria

      Each submission should be aligned with one of the following six categories: 

 

  1. Dance Marathon Community EngagementIdeas should focus on ways to help Dance Marathon communities and or teams stay connected, engaged with their campus community, and drive team members to be successful advocates for their local CMN hospital throughout the year.

     

  2.  Cause Awareness Campaign: Ideas should focus on ways to unite the Dance Marathon movement to generate greater awareness of the needs of children’s hospitals and drive fundraising for local CMN Hospitals through a singular campaign (Child Health Day, for example). 

  3. Dance Marathon Fundraising: Ideas should focus on tools and resources that will help programs drive fundraising and donations in support of local CMN Hospitals.

  4. Dance Marathon Virtual Engagement: Ideas should focus on new tools and resources that will help programs inspire and engage their constituents (participants, donors, alumni, etc.) in support of local CMN Hospitals.

  5. Dance Marathon Event Experience (physical, on campus events): Ideas should focus on creating memorable experiences in local communities through Dance Marathon events that benefit local CMN Hospitals.

  6. Blue-Sky Innovation: The Dance Marathon community is one of the most creative and resourceful student communities to be reckoned with. If you have an idea that doesn’t fit into one of the above categories, place it within the Blue-Sky Innovation category!

These are the Subject Matter Experts that will be judging the top 15 and will be available to help you develop your idea before presenting at DMLC 2020! These experts come from all over the charity industry and will work closely with you/your team and help you take your idea to the next level!

How the Judging Works

A panel of CMN Hospitals Dance Marathon employees will review every idea submitted to this site and select the top 14 based off of the #1 priority- Innovative.

 

The top 14 ideas will be presented during the Community Feedback stage for YOU to provide comments on your favorites. The idea with the most upvotes* will be automatically entered into the top 15.

 

The top 15 will be judged by our SMEs made up of industry and Dance Marathon experts, resulting in a final 4. These ideas will further develop their idea and create a video presentation sharing their idea. These presentations will be shared at DMLC and a panel of judges will complete a final scorecard utilizing the below results.
